France League news 12BET update 11/09

PSG superstar Javier Pastore isn't paying too much attention to his critics, preferring to focus on acclimatising to his new club's busy schedule and settling down in the City of Light.

It's been a whirlwind for Argentine playmaker Javier Pastore since his move to Paris saint-Germain from Palermo in the summer. Aside from the massive publicity of being Ligue 1's most expensive player of all time, Pastore has had to adjust to a hectic calendar that sees his new side playing in regular three-day intervals - on top moving to one of the world's most dazzling metropolises and learning a new language.

While his performances have been far from disappointing - the classy midfielder has scored six goals and laid on two assists - consistency has been an issue, something that has prompted some to ask questions about the €42 million spent on his signature.

'Take a step back'
"That's just part of football," said the 22-year-old. "Criticism doesn't affect me. When I play well, people speak well of me and and I when I play badly, it's just the opposite. You just have to know how to take a step back and not pay too much attention."

The Argentine international did however offer something of an explanation for the fact that he hasn't been able to deliver stunning performances in every outing for the capital club.

Fatigue factor
"My arrival at the club, and all the media circus that went with it, was pretty tiring," he offered. "And it's true that at the clubs I have played at in the past, I haven't had to play every three days. But I'm staying calm about it all. Now I have ten days to focus on the Argentine national team [who face Bolivia and Colombia in World Cup qualifiers on November 11 and 15 respectively] and clear my head."

While Pastore is looking forward to returning from the international break with the batteries recharged, his changed domestic situation should also help the talented playmaker to settle into life in the French capital."

"I've just spent a bit more than two months living in a hotel, which is pretty tiring," he explained. "But I've finally found a house to live in and I'll move in there as soon as I return from international duty." - http://www.ligue1.com
