Antoine Kombouare has the full confidence of Paris Saint-Germain, says Leonardo
The Ligue 1 giants' sporting director has stressed that the club have no intention of parting company with their head coach
Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has made it clear that head coach Antoine Kombouare still has the full confidence of the club.
There has been a lot of speculation about Kombouare's future with the Ligue 1 table-toppers since the club was taken over by a Qatari investment group last summer, and a number of recent reports suggested that PSG are lining up Carlo Ancelotti as their new head coach.
Nevertheless, the former Chelsea manager recently denied reports that he is in talks with the Paris side and Leonardo has now insisted that Kombouare's job is safe.
"There has been quite a lot said about Kombouare, but the squad knows what is going on. The situation has never changed and it's not going to," Leonardo was quoted as saying by L'Equipe.
"Kombouare has the full confidence of the club and we will continue to work together. He is the coach, nothing has changed.
"We only started that work four months ago and a lot of positive things have already happened. We're improving, it's part of the game."
Despite Sunday's 1-0 loss at home against Nancy, PSG still top the Ligue 1 table with 30 points from 14 games. - http://www.goal.com
