David Trezeguet considering move to River Plate, says agent
The World Cup-winning Frenchman has been linked with a move to the Argentine giants, with contact already said to have been made between the player and the club
Former France international striker David Trezeguet is considering a move to Argentine side River Plate, according to his agent.
Having been released by Emirati club Bani Yas in November, the 34-year-old is believed to be interested in a move to the South American giants.
There are several clubs interested in a transfer but David [Trezeguet] is a River [Plate] fan and he wants to wear their shirt."
Known best for his time at Italian powerhouse Juventus, Trezeguet has more recently featured for clubs such as Monaco and Hercules. He spent his childhood and adolescence in Buenos Aires, however, and started his career at River's close neighbours Platense before moving to France.
River Plate president Daniel Passarella is now hopeful of bringing the experienced striker to Argentina, with the duo reportedly having spoken about the transfer over the phone. - http://www.goal.com
