Pastore blow for PSG

Paris Saint-Germain star Javier Pastore will miss three to four weeks - and some crucial matches - as he recovers from a torn thigh muscle sustained in the capital club's 4-0 Coupe de France win over Sablé at the weekend.

Javier Pastore will be out of action for the next month as Ligue 1 leaders PSG look to widen the gap at the top of the table in 2012, club doctors announcing that MRIs had revealed that the torn thigh muscle sustained in a clash on Friday night will need an extended absence to heal.

Three weeks minimum
"It'll be at least three weeks," declared PSG medical director Eric Rolland. "It's that simple. That's the minimum time for recovery, but Javier could be out for longer."
The Argentine international looked to have put his pre-Christmas form slump behind him as he started 2012 in fine form under new coach Carlo Ancelotti, scoring in the 2-1 round-of-64 Coupe de France win over Locminé and Week 20's 3-1 league win over Toulouse.

Top-of-the-table clash
His absence will coincide with league outings against Brest and Evian and a last-16 clash with Ligue 1 rivals Dijon as well as the crucial visit of PSG's nearest rivals Montpellier in Week 24, but the club is hoping their star midfielder will be back in time for Week 25's trip to Lyon.- http://www.ligue1.com/
