Leonardo: We’ll give Beckham time
Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo says the club will give David Beckham the time he needs to decide whether to move his family to the French capital.
The former England captain, 36, is now out of contract with the LA Galaxy and is mulling over his future.
Speaking from Doha in Qatar, where the Ligue 1 leaders are preparing for the second half of the season, Leonardo said: "The question mark has never been professional but personal. It's a difficult choice to move the entire family to Paris. We'll wait a bit.
"It's a personal choice and one that’s not easy for him. He's got time and so do we. We never said it was a done deal. It's not a question of his contract. We're not pushing him and I respect him so much."I've got incredible admiration for him as a player and as a father. I understand that it's difficult to get him to up sticks, and we're leaving him in peace."
Qatari-owned PSG face AC Milan, where Leonardo briefly coached Beckham, in a friendly in Dubai on Wednesday. Carlo Ancelotti, another former Milan boss, will use that match to limber up for his first official fixture, a Coupe de France Round of 64 tie at Locminé (CFA2, D5) on Sunday.- http://www.ligue1.com
